Perhaps you’re partial to funding after-school programs in the U.S. Or maybe building a school overseas is more your speed. Either way, buildOn offers abundant opportunities for generous donors to follow their passion and make a difference by supporting a project or program that matters to them.

Sponsors may support projects at a partnering U.S. high school - or at any of buildOn’s international project sites. Donated funds are used to provide materials, labor, transportation and other costs associated with running our successful and empowering programs.

The following describes a number of current projects and programs available for funding through buildOn:

Projects and Programs in the U.S.

• After-School Programs – buildOn after-school programs provide U.S. high school students across the country with engaging and empowering activities focused on global education, self-improvement and community service.
• Lead – Empower a regional team of 20 students by supporting Lead, buildOn’s yearlong leadership program. This enriching opportunity focuses on leadership training, professional development, global education and community service.
• Trek for Knowledge – Empower U.S. high school students to make a difference in the lives of those in need by sponsoring a Trek for Knowledge journey to a developing country. Your contribution will fund 12 to 18 buildOn members to live, work and experience village culture as they aid the construction of buildOn schoolhouses in Malawi, Mali, and Nicaragua.
• Regional Service Projects – Impact buildOn students and your community by sponsoring a Regional Service Project in your area. Such opportunities are offered twice a year and are a great way to support buildOn students directly.

Projects and Programs in Developing Countries

• Build a School – Help build a new primary school and fill a tremendous void in the educational opportunities available in some of the poorest communities in the world. buildOn currently has school-construction projects underway in Haiti, Malawi, Mali, Nicaragua and Nepal.
• Sponsor a Classroom - Sponsor a classroom in one of the new schools buildOn is building in developing countries around the world.
• Community Education Program – Foster a buildOn Community Education Program in a developing country to reduce adult illiteracy and increase community self-sufficiency.
