In a fast-paced world, buildOn keeps students engaged and informed with themed activities and useful materials on the issues and events affecting our global community. Bring the buildOn experience to life in after-school programs, meetings and workshops with monthly materials focused on global themes, including lesson plans, articles and creative activities.
Monthly Themed Materials
Monthly topics include Human Rights, Children’s Rights, and Education, each brought to life by engaging text, facts and figures, lessons and activities. Each month includes a community service activity and a sponsorship activity, both of which are tied to the global education theme.

How much impact can one-person’s service make? How much impact did we have as a buildOn program this year? Take this last month to reflect, celebrate & plan.
Global Education Activity: Unequal Tug-of-War
At buildOn we are striving to overcome great odds. Host an unequal Tug-of-War to demonstrate how hope exists in the face of great odds.
Service Activity: Your Ripple Effect
Reflect about your year of service with buildOn. Examine your local and global impact and make an action plan for the summer.
Sponsorship Activity: Spare Change for Change
Learn how a little money goes a LONG way in developing countries by examining how much money buildOn members spend each day on unnecessary things. Compare that amount to how much is needed to build schools. Then, set up change collection jars at local businesses to capture small amounts of change to make BIG changes globally.

Global Education Elective Curriculum
