Abby Hurst
Vice President, U.S. Programs
Abby joined buildOn in 2001, working in the San Francisco Bay Area to grow domestic programs throughout Northern California. In fall 2002, she became buildOn's Trek Manager and coordinated with staff throughout the country to provide international service opportunities to buildOn students through the Trek for Knowledge enrichment program.
In 2005, Abby became Vice President of U.S. Programs, assuming leadership of buildOn's domestic agenda while overseeing all programmatic development and implementation. A graduate of Kenyon College in Gambler, Ohio, Abby received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Cultural Anthropology. She has traveled, worked and studied extensively in many parts of the world, with experiences including outdoor education, leadership training, community foundation and not-for-profit work.
