Citadel Investments

Visiting Chicago from some of the best universities around the country, a group of 20 Summer Interns at Citadel Investments spent two days away from their work projects to give back to Chicago students and residents.

Last summer, Citadel’s Summer Interns led a professional development workshop for 25 Chicago high school students participating in buildOn’s program. College students gave tips on resume building, college advice, effective communications, and workforce etiquette. It was a unique opportunity for buildOn high school students to participate in a workshop and gain hands-on experience from current college students.

The bonding experience didn’t stop there, both Citadel Interns and buildOn high school students volunteered their time together to refurbish the Esperanza Community Center and School for disabled children and adults. In all, some 50 volunteers prepared and cleaned the buildings for a new class of students ready to start the school year.
